Organic Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) is a spice used for seasoning food made from dried peppercorn. Black Pepper has a sharp, penetrating aroma and a characteristic woody, piney flavor. It is hot and biting to taste. Also known as Kali Mirchi in Hindi, it has been used in Indian cooking since at least 2000 BCE. Pepper loses flavour and aroma through evaporation so airtight storage helps preserve its flavour. It is harvested from January to Mid-March and then again from November to December.
