Organic Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine that is cultivated for its fruit, known as a peppercorn which is normally dried and used as a spice or seasoning. It is also often referred to as “King of spice” and harvested from January to Mid-March and then again from November to December. Organic Black Pepper has a sharp, penetrating aroma and a characteristic woody, piney flavor. It is hot and biting to taste. While pepper originally belongs to South India, it’s cultivated in other tropical countries as well. Also known as Kali Mirchi in Hindi, ground, dried and cooked peppercorns have been used since ancient times in traditional medicine.
