Organic Saffron

Organic Saffron (Crocus sativus) is a spice as well as a colouring agent. It is rich and potent in taste and is derived from the flower of Crocus Sativus Linnaeus or the Saffron rose from Kashmir Valley of Himalayas. It is the most expensive spice but is available in kitchens year-round. Also known as Kesar in Hindi, it is deep orange-red in colour, the threads are unbroken and dry. They have a musky, flowery aroma and an earthy warmth with a lingering bitterness. It is harvested from the end of October to mid of November.
